AOMEI Dynamic Disk Manager Pro

A far more powerful substitute for the limited Disk Manager built into Windows.

This software is not for the average home computer user simply because the features that it provides are simply not needed on most home computers. Where this software is useful is with business computers where there are several hard drives attached and where you need to be able to make the best use of the hard drive space available using dynamic disk definitions.

Dynamic disks allow you to define spanned volumes, striped volumes, mirrored volumes and raid 5 volumes (as well as simple ones) - provided that the version of Windows you are using supports it. While there are some versions of Windows intended for the desktop that support some of these volume types the full list is only supported by versions of Windows intended to run on a server (and this version of AEOMI disk manager doesn't run on those operating systems - you need the server version of this software to be able to use it there). This means that this version of the software is very limited as to the versions of Windows where part of the dynamic disk functionality can be used.

This software will install on at least versions of Windows that do not support dynamic disks at all (such as XP home) and the software does have a copy of AEOMI Partition Assistant Pro attached into it that provides all the functionality that is available for working with basic disks. This makes the software usable with your computer even where your computer does not support dynamic disks (in fact based on the functionality and price listed for Partition Assistant Pro on the AEOMI web site it probably comes with Disk Manager Pro included with it so that you get both products whichever of the two that you buy).
