Bypassing the Cache
To bypass any copy of the page or page components in the browser cache when refreshing/reloading the page you need to do the following:
- On Windows, OS/2, and Linux systems; hold down the Shift key while clicking the refresh or reload button in your browser.
- On a Macintosh computer; hold down the Option key while clicking the reload button in your browser.
Clearing the Cache
In Internet Explorer go to Internet Options and click on the Delete Files option to clear out your browser cache. You can also click Clear History to clear the page history cache and with Internet Explorer closed; you might also take a look at Temporary Internet Files and delete any Cookies that you no longer require (eg. for sites you only visited once).
In Netscape go into Preferences then to Advanced - Cache and click on Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache to clear out your browser cache. You can also click Clear History on the Navigator page to clear the page history cache.
In Opera go into Preferences to the History and Cache page and click on Empty Now to clear out your browser cache.
