CICS ASKTIME
Question:In CICS Mainframe, when I issue EXEC CICS ASKTIME TIME command, it is not returning me anything.

Answer: The EXEC CICS ASKTIME command is used to update the EIBDATE and EIBTIME fields with the current date and time. These fields contain either the date and time at which the current CICS task started or the date and time at which the latest ASKTIME command was executed whichever is the more recent.
If you wish to use ASKTIME to obtain the current time then you need to use two CICS commands:
EXEC CICS ASKTIME ABSTIME(ABSOLUTE-TIME)
EXEC CICS FORMATTIME ABSTIME(ABSOLUTE-TIME) TIME(CURRENT-TIME)
CURRENT_TIME will then contain the current time in the format hh:mm:ss.
