Creating an Email Account using cPanel

Setting up an email account via cpanel is extremely easy because there is an option that does everything for you. Simply go to the emailss section of cpanel and select the Email Accounts option.

the email account icon

This will open the option that allows you to create, edit and remove email accounts. The form for creating a new email account is at the top of the page.

All you need to do is to select the domain you are creating the email address for from the drop down list on the right (this will list all the domains attached to your account that you are allowed to create email accounts on). You also need to enter the actual account name within that domain to the left of the @.

You will also need to enter the password that is to be used to access the emails in the account twice (so as to avoid making any typos while entering it since it will not display). You will need to include a combination of letters, numbers, and other symbols so as to have a strong hard to crack password.

The final step is to specify a maximum size for the mailbox for the account you are creating and then press the Create button to create the account.

Once the email account is created you can then configure your email program to access that email account. The exact steps for doing that will depend on which email program you are using and also on how your hosting provider requires that you access the email accounts that they host. Most hosting providers will have email program configuration instructions for the more common email programs available from their site.
