question : I have set my computer to Australian language. I have word 2007 in wich I set the language and dictionary to Australian. It will
edit one word in Australian then switch back to American. How do I get
it to stay on Australian?
Answer : Thanks for asking that question. I just realised that my copy of Word 2007 was doing the exact same thing. Figuring out the answer took a bit of researching and trial and error but i eventually found the solution. I have Word 2007 running on Windows XP so if you are using a different operating system then the exact instructions on how to fix it may be slightly different.
Press the "Start" button at the bottom left of the screen and select "Control Panel". You then need to find the option called "Regional and Language Options". Next select the "Languages" tab and press the "Details" button. Change the default language option there to "English (Australia) - US" (indicating that the computer is using Australian English with a US keyboard). That changes the default language for the entire computer and is the setting that Word uses to determine what language it should use as the default when you first open it.
