Lift Up Sections

Question: I am currently building an HO scale railroad and want to put a few lift up track sections on hinges or slides for access. I have searched forever on some info or details on this , cant find. Any ideas or details. I am using flextrack.

Answer: The important things when setting up a hinged section of baseboard.

Make sure that the track is well secured to the lifting section.
The hinges need to be raised above baseboard level so that they are above the track.
You need a way to lock the opening end in place so that the track will line up.
You may also want to set up the electrical wiring for the liftup section and a length either side to cut off power when the section is not locked down.
